I wanted to go see a midnight viewing of the Half-Blood Prince tonight, but according to the theatre website, all the ones showing were the French versions. So I went to a theatre to buy a ticket, you know, JUST IN CASE, or something, for tomorrow. But they don't sell advance tickets, what they did have was a midnight show in English. \o/

But since I've been away since Friday, and watched all the new Torchwood episodes when I came home yesterday, I haven't had a chance to watch the last three movies. Here's hoping I have enough time between now and tonight. Woot. And I'm off!

Check it out, it's a Slytherinmobile.

Also, there's just something about this picture of (the actors who play) Ron, Harry and Draco that I just LOVE. It's probably the hand on the waist.

I think I'm addicted to coupons. Lately I've been scouring sites for free stuff, or coupons, and I've received some really neat stuff. Tote bag, candy, full size herbal essence shampoo, bus pass... Not to mention the coupons. Yay, coupons. So yesterday, since my doorbell is broken, I didn't hear the delivery man, but see a note to pick up after 6pm. And it's addressed to my actual name, which the free stuff isn't.

So wondering, wondering... It's not till I'm driving down to the place that I realize it's the Breville Juicer I bought with my points! But by the time I get home I only have a chance to take it out of the shipping box before I need to head out to meet a friend.

Cue this morning. Take it out, wash it, reassemble it. Look over the recipes. Open my fridge. Realize I have 1 apple and 3 small mandarins. I guess this means I need to leave the house today.

BUT! JUICER! I've never had. Do any of you have one? Recommend any recipes, sites or books? I can't wait to try this thing out.

EIGHT DAYS! I can't wait for the new Harry Potter movie. eeeeeeeee. I've currently downloading all the movies to watch before I see the newest.

Wow. Choosing which poster to display took a lot longer than I thought it would.

And I've got Torchwood to watch tonight, yay.

Now back to tidying up the house.

Oh my god. Do you know what my doorbell does when the batteries start to die? It rings. And rings. Freaked me the fuck out, especially since it was after 10pm. At first I thought it was my neighbour's across the street doorbell cause, since both of ours are remote control bells, sometimes mine reacts to hers. But it wasn't, and I'm looking outside trying to see if there's someone ringing my bell and the doorbell kept ringing this dying sound.

Eight screws later, I finally get the back off. Then I had to try to take the second part apart to get to the batteries while this thing just kept ringing. Fun times.

I watched series 6 of Mock the Week last night. Six hours straight, I haven't laugh that much or for that long ever. This series was from last summer, I had to look up some things like who this Hammond guy was, or Kerry Katona, and I didn't realize that Lidl was practically everywhere in Europe. Also, tramp means bum/homless? hunh.

But there was one reference, that I remember, that I don't understand, and they mentioned it in a few episodes. Canoe. Something to do with a canoe, getting lost, and the UK. Does anyone know what this is referring to?

I'm looking for some picnic table plans, the kind that can be used in public parks, ie, hard to back up your pick-up truck and steal.

Anyway. there's a lot of plans for kids picnic tables, but I think this takes the cake.

Really, that's the best you could come up with? A painted silver picnic table with silverware, china? Who are they trying to sell this to?

Mac people who use Mail. How long has that button (Show Stationery) in Mail been around? And for those thinking, what? It's when you click New Message, to the right corner there is a button to show stationery. It's these HTML pages where you only need to replace any images if you want and type in your text. Then, tada. Cool looking email invite, ecard, announcement.

I get the feeling it's been there for ages, but I've just been ignoring it.

So I'm rewatching BtVS. On to season two now.

I first started watching Buffy after Angel debuted, so I always knew that Angel was a vampire. But I wonder, when it first aired, if you didn't know any spoilers, how surprising was it that Angel was a vampire?

Just got home, it feels weird and apocalyptic in my neighbourhood this evening. Storm is coming, it's windy, I was bringing in the plants cause it's suppose to be cold tonight. It's Good Friday, so the church's bells are going, in a mournful way, while the priest says the prayers out of the loud speaker. It's really eerie. And I believe there will be fireworks tonight, (or is it tomorrow night) so hopefully the wind dies down.

I really want to rewatch Buffy, from beginning to end. I've watched it a little bit here and there, but never all in a row. Besides when it was on TV, that is. But I have the DVDs, so, yes.

I'm looking for something and can't figure out the right keyword search. Help?

It's that illustrated guide to safety. For instance, what to do if you catch on fire, or choke. I think they were tongue-in-cheek, or maybe they were serious but it just came across as funny?

Does anyone know who made them, or where to find them? Or really, what I'm talking about? :) It was almost as if the Onion made a help guide.

Why must some HP authors completely crush me? :( Couldn't there be a special warning to let the reader know that Harry dies in the end? Maybe HPDITE?

And these endings always sneak up on me, too, since a lot of stories hint that maybe Harry is the last Horcruxs and he'll have to sacrifice himself to kill Voldermort. But most of these stories find another way, which leads me to believe that is what will happen in the stories where he actually does die. and then, dammit. nope. Harry's dead, the end.

But in happier news, yay, I changed my journal from it's Valentine's theme to a Spring and grass theme. yay spring. I hope you arrive soon. I've titled it, "Yelling at the grass: a beginner's guide." Which I think I read in an HP fic, possibly said by Draco. Anyone happen to remember what story that line is from?

Watching NCIS 614. Tony invented an internet persona and is IMing McGee. McGee is now is love. What did they talk about.hee

The longer I watch, I wonder if McGee knows that it's Tony. It almost seems like McGee is teasing him, saying he's going to give "Carla," another chance.

Ooh, Ziva told McGee, but when, hmm. Still though, loved it. And Tony doesn't know yet, so I say McGee is still going to chat him up.

Oh dear god, this story? So freaking funny. Draco's dry humour and comments to Harry and all are just hilarious. And his paranoia of McGonagall, and then there's Snape in the portrait, I think I hurt something from laughing so much.

I've just spent the last couple of days (till 6am this morning, yikes) reading this awesome, and really long (LOVE!) Harry Potter story.

Blood Magic by [info]gatewaygirl

Blood magic was supposed to keep Harry safe, but his relatives are expendable. Blood magic was supposed to keep Harry looking like his adoptive father, but it's wearing off. Blood is a bond, but so is the memory of hate -- or love.

Words: 335,560

In this story Snape is found out to be Harry Potter's father. Cliched plot, but done extraordinarily well. The story is long, yes, but never loses focus, so even once you get to the end, which is satisfying, you'll want to read more.

The only thing missing was some Harry/Draco pwp chapters, but since this was a friendship fic all you get is some occasional flirting. I wouldn't mind some Severus/Remus either, especially since they do have some history together.

Well worth the long read.

When I was a kid my family and I would go out for Sunday Brunch, many times at the Richmond Inn. Now I was a picky eater so would skip the buffet and get chicken fingers and fries. The Inn had the most awesome honey-mustard dip, almost rivals White Spots. It was so good, so I asked the waitress, who asked the cook, what was in it. He said, mayo, mustard, honey and curry. Some experimentation later I came up with the perfect amounts. Since then I lost the recipe, but finally found it again, and man, it is just as delicious as I remember.

Honey-Mustard Dip
makes 1 1/2 cups

Mix together:

3/4 cup mayonnaise (not miracle whip)
1/2 cup mustard
1/2 cup honey
3 tsp curry powder

Keep chilled.

I'm looking for a Sweet Potato casserole recipe, you know, the kind with marshmallows on top. But since I've only ever had this once, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for in a recipe, the ones I've found online range from having just a few ingredients, to having nutmeg, ginger and eggnog added, made with or without eggs. Boiled cubed sweet potatoes, or roasting them liked baked potatoes before mashing.

So if any of you have a recipe that you like that I could use, that would be Fantastic!

☃ Why, oh why, are uploads so much slower than downloads. Finish uploading already.

☃ The tree is decorated. It's December 13th and the freaking tree is up and decorated. Freaky. The earliest it's usually up is December 21st, and that is early, but this years first Christmas party is on the 21st, so up goes the tree. Did I mention we have 5 new Christmas village houses as well? Yep. Awesome deal at Costco last week, plus a gift from my cousin.

☃ You'd think living in a place where there is snow 4 to 5 months in the year that people would know how to drive in it. But nope, it's like Vancouver out there. Only going much, much faster, cause you know, they've got snow tires on and can totally stop even if there is an inch of ice on the roads. sheesh.

☃ Upload, upload, upload. ...
